Hong Kong International Airport served 3.8 million passengers in October, up 397% from the same month in 2022 when stringent pandemic-related travel curbs were still in place.
The latest traffic data released by Airport Authority Hong Kong show that aircraft movements almost doubled to 26,265 in May compared to last year.
The airport registered significant year-on-year growth across all passenger segments. The highest increases were from passengers flying to and from Southeast Asia, Mainland China, and Japan.
From January to October, passenger volume was 9.5 times higher than the same ten-month period in 2022, reaching 31.4 million, while aircraft movements nearly doubled to 218,370.
On a 12-month rolling basis, passenger volume stood at 34 million, 9.4 times higher than the same period in the previous year. The airport also saw aircraft movements jump by +78.7% year-on-year to 247,805.
