Samsung Electronics responded promptly on the 24th to a report by Reuters stating that "Samsung Electronics has not passed tests to supply high-bandwidth memory (HBM) to U.S. semiconductor company Nvidia."

On the same day, Samsung Electronics dismissed concerns about passing HBM supply tests, stating, "We are smoothly conducting tests for HBM supply with various global partners."

Reuters reported Nvidia's test results on HBM3 and HBM3E products used in graphics processing units (GPUs) for artificial intelligence (AI), citing issues such as "heat generation and power consumption."

However, Nvidia did not respond to Reuters' request for comment.

Samsung Electronics issued an immediate statement regarding the Reuters report and countered foreign media reports.

In the statement, Samsung Electronics reassured stakeholders by emphasizing its ongoing collaboration with numerous companies and continuous testing of technology and performance. It stated, "We are conducting various tests to verify the quality and performance of HBM thoroughly."

Samsung Electronics is steadfast in its focus on leading the next-generation HBM market. Following the successful initial mass production of 8Gb HBM3E products last month, it aims to start mass production of 12Gb HBM3E products within the second quarter.
