TFWA(Tax Free World Association)는 10월 2일 프랑스 칸에서 열리는 2023 세계면세박람회(TFWA World Conference)에 앞서 행사 강연자들의 주제와 포럼 내용을 공개한다고 19일 밝혔다. 

세계면세박람회는 Grand Auditorium에서 이날 오전 9시부터 TFWA 회장 에릭 쥬울-몰텐센(Erik Juul-Mortensen)의 연설로 개막한다. 

이번 박람회의 기조 연설자로는 미국 언론인겸 작가인 '밥 우드워드'(Bob Woodward)가 초청됐다. 밥 우드워드는 1973년 워터게이트 스캔들에 대한 조사 보도로 2회의 퓰리처상을 수상했다. 

뉴욕타임즈 베스트 셀러인 'No Rules Rules'의 공동 저자인 에릭 마이어(Erin Meyer)도 박람회 강연자로 참석한다. 에릭 작가는 이번 박람회에서 리더십과 비즈니스 동향, 여행 소매업의 미래를 포함한 주제를 다룰 예정이다. 

조지 W. 부시 미국 대통령의 특별 보좌관을 역임한 경제학자이자 기업가인 피파 말름그렌(Pippa Malmgren) 지정학적 위험을 포함한 주제에 대해 강연한다. 

TFWA 공항 포럼 워크숍은 10월 3일 오전 8시에 마제스틱 호텔(Majestic Hotel)에서 열릴 예정이다. 

이번 포럼에서는 면세점 및 여행 소매 부문에서 어떻게 브랜드 업체와 소매 업체가 투자기회를 만들 수 있을지에 대해 글로벌 컨설턴트의 독점보고서를 통해 공유될 예정이다. 다음날 열리는 워크숍에서는 불법 거래 방지 캠페인 'Duty Free: Trusted, Transparent, Secure' 주제를 다룬다.

■TFWA Announces Further Details of TFWA World Conference Programme

TFWA has unveiled further details ahead of the 2023 TFWA World Conference, which will be held at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes on Monday, 2nd October.

The TFWA World Conference will be held from 9:00 until 11:45 in the Grand Auditorium. It will open with an address from TFWA President Erik Juul-Mortensen, who will welcome delegates to Cannes and share his views on the state of the duty-free and travel retail industry.

Delegates will then hear from this year’s keynote speaker, American journalist, and author Bob Woodward, who has been awarded two Pulitzer Prizes, one in 1973 for his investigative reporting on the Watergate scandal and another in 2003 for his work as a lead reporter on coverage of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. He is a best-selling author who has written about nine US presidents, the CIA, and the Supreme Court, giving him a unique perspective on US and global politics.

Also joining the program is professor and author Erin Meyer, author of The Culture Map: Breaking Through the Invisible Boundaries of Global Business, who co-authored the New York Times best-seller ‘No Rules Rules.’ She will address topics including leadership, business trends, diversity, and the future of work. Economist, entrepreneur, and author Dr. Pippa Malmgren, who served as a special assistant to US President George W. Bush and as a non-executive board member of the Department of International Trade in the UK, will share her expertise on themes including geopolitical risks and trends, economic policy, Brexit, and tech innovation. Respected journalist and broadcaster Stephen Sackur will return as the conference moderator.

The popular TFWA Airport Forum workshop will return to Cannes this year, taking place at the Majestic Hotel on Tuesday at 8:00 am, during which delegates will hear the findings of ACI’s ANARA working group on the future for non-aeronautical revenues. The session will also explore the conclusions of an exclusive report commissioned by TFWA from global consultant Kearney on how the duty-free and travel retail sector can ensure it remains an attractive investment opportunity for brands and retailers. A second workshop on the ‘Duty-Free: Trusted, Transparent, Secure’ anti-illicit trade campaign will be held from 8:00 am on Wednesday, also at the Majestic Hotel.

Meanwhile, TFWA i.lab will be housed in a new location in the Golden Village inside the Palais des Festivals. TFWA i.lab is an ideas hub that provides a forum for fresh thinking about the traveler experience and showcases innovative ways to engage the traveling consumer.
