Lotte Duty-Free has swung its support behind ‘Korea Duty-Free Festa,’ a month-long promotion to encourage spending by foreign visitors and Korean travelers during the peak travel season.
Korea Customs Service and Korea Duty-Free Association jointly host the shopping campaign. All 15 duty-free shops in Korea, including Seoul, Busan, and Jeju, participate.
To coincide with the festival, Lotte Duty-Free is hosting an event to present up to 2 million KRW (US$1,495) in LDF PAY to overseas purchasers. Tourists can use it like cash at Lotte Duty-Free offline branches.
From 8 May, coupons offering discounts of up to US$50 will be presented, depending on the purchase amount. In addition, shopping benefits for each payment method, such as JCB cards and Alipay, are being provided for Japanese and Chinese tourists.
Lotte Internet Duty-Free offers additional points worth up to US$78, depending on the amount spent. In addition, the ‘Spring Picnic Exhibition’ features 300 products from 100 brands, such as Paul Smith, Lacoste, and Joseph & Stacey, at up to -50% discounts. The ‘23SS First Half Settlement Sale’ will offer discounts as high as -70%.
In a blockbuster attraction, the 32nd Lotte Duty-Free Shop Family Concert will be held over three days from 16 to 18 June, along with a giveaway event for Koreans to stay at Lotte Hotel.
“For the successful Korea Duty-Free Festa, Lotte Duty-Free has prepared a wealth of benefits,” a company spokesperson said.
In other news, Lotte Duty-Free has recently produced a shopping guide for downtown duty-free shops and pick-up points in six languages (English, Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, Thai, and Korean).
Sales to Southeast Asian tourists such as Vietnamese, Thais, and Taiwanese increased by about 3.5 times year-on-year in the first quarter.
This promising growth spurred Lotte Duty-Free to revamp its leaflet to offer more detail on how to purchase and receive products and document the location of pick-up counters at international airports such as Incheon, Gimpo, Gimhae, and Jeju.
Lotte made this guide with eco-friendly non-wood pulp and vegetable ink from sugarcane waste.
