Medytox announced on the 4th that it recently received approval to resume sales of its botulinum toxin product 'Meditoxin' (export name Neuronox) from the Food and Drug Administration of Thailand (TFDA) and began exporting earnestly.

TFDA suspended sales of Meditoxin in Thailand in 2020 due to the Korean administrative disposition of Medytox but recently lifted that measure.

It has been three years since the sales of Meditoxin, which had established itself as Thailanfd's No.1 toxin product with annual sales exceeding KRW 10 billion.

Mediceles is a local joint venture established in March 2017 after Medytox signed a sales contract with local beauty distribution company 'Celeste' in 2008 to enter the Thai market.

Medytox plans to regain the top position in the toxin market through Mediceles' sales force and supply chain. In addition, Medytox intends to solidify its place in the Southeast Asian beauty market with Neuramis, a hyaluronic acid filler that entered the market in 2018.

Medytox Vice President Joo Hee-Seok said, "The resumption of Meditoxin sales in Thailand has given us a boost in targeting the Southeast Asian market. We will achieve rapid results in the Thai market, with annual sales of over KRW 10 billion."

A Mediceles official said, "We very much welcome the decision to resume sales of Meditoxin in Thailand," and emphasized, "We will quickly recover Meditoxin's market share through a sales strategy linked to Neuramis, which is number one in the Thai market."

■메디톡스, ‘메디톡신’ 태국 수출 본격 재개...TFDA 판매 중단 조치 '해제'

메디톡스가 최근 태국식품의약품청(TFDA)로부터 보툴리눔 톡신 제제 ‘메디톡신’(수출명 뉴로녹스)의 판매 재개 승인을 받고 수출을 본격 시작했다고 4일 밝혔다. 

태국 식품의약청(TFDA)은 지난 2020년 메디톡스의 국내 행정처분을 이유로 메디톡신의 태국 판매를 중단한 바 있으나, 최근 해당 조치를 전격 해제했다.   

연간 매출 100억원을 넘어서며 태국 1등 톡신 제제로 자리매김했던 메디톡신의 판매가 재개된 것은 3년 만이다. 

메디셀레스는 메디톡스가 2008년 태국 진출을 위해 현지 미용유통업체 ‘셀레스테’와 판매 계약을 체결한 후 2017년 3월에 설립한 현지 합작법인이다. 

메디톡스는 메디셀레스가 보유한 영업력과 공급망을 통해 다시 톡신 시장에서의 1위 자리를 탈환하겠다는 계획이다. 더불어 2018년 진출한 히알루론산 필러 뉴라미스와 함께 동남아 뷰티 시장에서의 자리를 확고히 할 방침이다. 

메디톡스 주희석 부사장은 “메디톡신의 태국 판매 재개로 동남아시장 공략에 힘을 얻게 됐다”며, “연간 100억이 넘는 매출을 기록했던 태국 시장에서 빠른 성과를 만들겠다”고 말했다. 

현지 메디셀레스 관계자는 “메디톡신의 태국 판매재개 결정을 매우 환영한다”며 “태국 시장에서 1등인 뉴라미스와 연계한 영업전략을 통해 메디톡신의 시장점유율도 빠르게 회복하겠다”고 강조했다.
